Khan al-Ahmar
Read about demolitions in the Bedouin encampment of Khan al-Ahmar, which is located between Kfar Adumim and Ramallah. All the Bedouin encampments in this area are in danger of expulsion.
Three houses of wood and tin, belonging to 3 brothers were demolished on October 31st. The families will move into tents supplied by the UN. The brothers are Sleinan, Suleiman and Mohamed Salim. At least 21 children, one with epilepsy, and a pregnant women were forced to sleep outdoors. They have lived in Khan al-Ahmar for more than 26 years.
When the security forces came arrived in the morning only one older woman and two children were in present. According to a testimony, male soldiers and a female soldier held her back and after the demolition was completed, allowed her to sit down.
We suspect that this demolition in Khan al-Ahmar took place as part of a greater political plan to break the Palestinian territorial sequence in the area of Maale Adumim.
Please express your objection to the demolition policy in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem by sending letters by e-mail or fax to the Minister of Defense Ehud Barak. Fax: 03-691-6940, Email: minister@mod.gov.il
