{"id":2673,"date":"2014-07-24T23:53:15","date_gmt":"2014-07-24T20:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jahalin.org\/?p=2673"},"modified":"2014-07-24T23:53:15","modified_gmt":"2014-07-24T20:53:15","slug":"bus-stop-ramallah-artist-children-wadi-abu-hindi-film-whitebox-art-center-khaled-jarrar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jahalin.org\/archive\/?p=2673","title":{"rendered":"BUS Stop: Ramallah Artist and his Short Film Featuring Children of Wadi Abu Hindi [Video]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/85620451\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"550\" height=\"318\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>The above film&#8211;which features a special project undertaken by the children of Wadi Abu Hindi&#8211;comes from the artist&#8217;s solo show &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/whiteboxnyc.org\/event\/no-exit\/\" target=\"_blank\">NO EXIT<\/a>,&#8221; which debuted at the Whitebox Art Center on July 24th and draws its inspiration from the ordeal which prevented him from traveling to New York.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The following is a press release from the <a href=\"http:\/\/whiteboxnyc.org\/event\/no-exit\/\" target=\"_blank\">Whitebox Art Center<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 July 24, 2014<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>New York City<\/strong> &#8211; Whitebox Art Center presents a solo show by Palestinian artist Khaled Jarrar in conjunction with an underground salon at Undercurrent Projects produced and curated by Myriam Vanneschi.<\/p>\n<p>The Israel Border Police denied artist Khaled Jarrar exit to travel to NYC for this project and his participation in the show, &#8220;Here and Elsewhere&#8221; at the New Museum. He has since decided to create a new work for this show that deals with his status as well as the current situation in Gaza.
